The Freedom Claremont projects was a large site development project for Baltimore City which began in March 2007. The City was trying to upgrade on its problem, run down areas on the east side of Baltimore. The project had been mass graded by others when Facchina began the installation of over 9000 l.f. of storm sewer, 8700 l.f. of sanitary sewer, 9200 l.f. of water line, 14,600 l.f. of curb & gutter, 12,000 tons of subbase stone material, 8900 tons of asphalt, and 57,652 S.F. of sidewalk. The project became a challenge only two months into the schedule when the Developer began constructing townhouses on the same site. It was a coordination problem that Facchina’s site Superintendent had to deal with on a daily basis for two years. The progress had been going so well even with the conflicts between the building contractor and Facchina that the City added a third phase to our contract. Facchina completed the third phase by May of 2009 and the owner accepted the project on May 29th, 2009.
